The final solution is the Johan Cruyff Stadium, where Barca’s women’s and youth teams play. In an official statement, Barca said, “The La Liga match against Valencia cannot be held at the Spotify Camp Nou. We are hopeful that the necessary approval will be obtained very soon. For now, the match will be held at the Johan Cruyff Stadium. The club will soon provide more detailed information about the organization and ticketing system of the match.”
Valencia fans were not happy with Barcelona’s announcement. Because the capacity of the Johan Cruyff Stadium is very low, they are not getting the opportunity to watch the game sitting in the gallery. As a result, even if the match is held in a full gallery, it will still go down in history as one of the lowest-attended matches in La Liga.
Currently, the Johan Cruyff Stadium has a capacity of only 6,000. According to La Liga rules, a stadium must have a capacity of at least 8,000 spectators to host a match. However, Spanish sports daily Marca reported that Barca is being given special consideration. Among the teams currently playing in La Liga, Getafe’s Coliseum Alfonso Perez has the smallest capacity, at 11,000. That’s also due to renovations.
